With the support of Victoria Police, VicRoads and the RoadSafe Inner Northern Community, we have developed the Road Safety Plan 2010-2014 (pdf, 5.8MB), which will greatly enhance the safety of all road users within the City.
What is the plan?
We aim to bring together key players like Victoria Police and VicRoads, as well as community groups and residents to work together to increase safety not just on roads, but also on bike paths and footpaths.
What we want to do
Road safety also covers a number of other topics, projects and issues that directly relate to various user groups in Moonee Valley. We are constantly reviewing and running innovative programs associated with:
- improving pedestrian safety
- new rules for safer roads
- road safety around schools
- drink driving
- older drivers
- crash statistics
- hoon driver behaviour
- VicRoads Blackspot funding
NorthWest 4
New community road safety group NorthWest 4 is seeking expressions of interest from individuals and community organisations that would like to get involved.
NorthWest 4 is a registered community road safety group consisting of four Councils – Moonee Valley, Darebin, Hume and Moreland.
NorthWest 4 is funded under the VicRoads Victorian Road Safety Partnership Program.
In its first year, NorthWest 4 will address the issue of young driver safety. If you are passionate about road safety and are interested, please complete the expression of interest form (pdf, 281KB) or call 9243 8888 for more information.
