Internet facilities
 The Internet is available to library members.
 Using the internet is free on the production of a current membership card.
 Users under 18 need to have signed parental consent registered on their record.
 

Please book for this in person or by phone on 8325 1900 or at PC Reservations

Catch the Internet wave
Internet classes are held at Moonee Valley libraries, covering the World Wide Web and setting up email addresses. These are limited to two people at a time, run for two hours and include plenty of hands on practice. Contact your local branch for session times.

Cost: $13.00 or $9.50 concession for each class attended.
Additional specialist classes are also available in Vietnamese and Chinese languages and on Genealogy.


 

 
  Internet access and PC usage policy (PDF 96kb)

Home Library Service
A free Home Library Service for residents of Moonee Valley who are unable to access the library for reasons including frailty, disability, illness or are full time carers of the above. The library also provides material to nursing homes and other institutions.

Volunteers play an important part in this service, and if you would like to become a volunteer or join the Home Library Service, please contact Community Liaison Co-Ordinator on 8325 1960 or ask at any of our branches.

Disability support
All branches are accessible to people with disabilities.
 
 Ascot Vale, Milleara and Flemington have ramps for access.
 Special toilet facilities are available at Sam Merrifield, Milleara, and Niddrie branches.
 Flemington offers wheelchair access to toilets via a lift.
 Disabled parking spaces are provided at Ascot Vale, Milleara, Niddrie and Sam Merrifield libraries.
 

Display cases
Display cases are available at Sam Merrifield Library for use by local groups and organisations to advertise events and services. No commercial material will be accepted. To book display cases phone 8325 1950.
 
Meeting rooms
Meeting rooms are available for use during library opening hours at:
Sam Merrifield - ph. 8325 1950
Flemington - ph. 8325 1975
Niddrie - ph. 8325 1925

Cost: Use of the room is free for community groups. Commercial users are charged $30.00 per session (up to three hours). These rooms are readily accessible by people with disabilities.

 

 
Mobile phone and toner recycling
Mobile Musters for the recycling of mobile phones and accessories are provided at some of our branches. The Niddrie and Sam Merrifield branches also have bins provided by Planet Ark for toner cartridge recycling.
 
Showerhead exchange program
Moonee Valley City Council and the State Government of Victoria would like to help Moonee Valley residents save some water.

Residents can exchange their old showerhead at Niddrie and Flemington Library for a free water efficient model, valued at $34.
