Try the Computer School: your library’s latest resource
Do you, or someone you know, need help in using computers? Try The Computer School.

Our newest resource, The Computer School, offers online tutorials on topics such as Windows Vista, MS Office programs including Word, Excel and Powerpoint; Dreamweaver; Photoshop and many more. The Computer School also provides basic, step-by-step instructions for beginners on computer basics, how to use the Internet, eCommerce and how to stay safe online.

To use The Computer School., simply enter your library card number and click the Submit button.

Family and Local History Blog
Calling anyone interested in Local or Family history: visit our new Moonee Valley Family and Local History Blog for articles about people and places, information about coming events, weblinks and much more. The current blog entries have information about Dr Sam Merrifield; Bonegilla Migrant Camp; and the historic newspaper digitization project being undertaken by the National Library.

Keep visiting the blog for more news and articles as they are added; it’s an ongoing project and we welcome comments and participation from library users.

Family Quiz
Ever wanted to be on a quiz show? Bring along the family and join Leanne Davidson as she conducts Moonee Valley's first word quiz. Leanne, author of prize winning book Quizzical, has run similar events at schools and libraries all over Melbourne. Sam Merrifield Library Thursday 25 September, 7pm. Free but bookings necessary. "Go Green" and join us for Sustainability month in October. Events include: water wise gardening, tips on reducing energy costs, repairing your bike and worm farming.

Water Wise Gardening
Find out how to make your garden sustainable. Create a water sensitive garden design and find out which plants will attract native wildlife to your backyard. An expert speaker from Sustainable Gardening Australia will provide you with valuable garden advice. All participants will receive a guide to "Sustainable Gardening in Moonee Valley" and go in the running to win a plant voucher valued at $50. Sam Merrifield Library.
