Community Groups and Events Network

Our Community Groups and Events Network gives local groups a way to connect with other groups in Moonee Valley to promote their events, form partnerships, recruit members and volunteers, share resources, and connect with Council departments.

Through the network we will work together with community groups to identify and provide training needs such as event management, grant writing, communications and media.

The network is designed to strengthen the capacity of community groups and organisations to better meet the needs of their members and the community.

What’s involved?

The network will meet quarterly in various locations within Moonee Valley to discuss issues like:

  • upcoming grants and funding opportunities for community groups
  • identifying and registering for community group training throughout the year
  • guest speakers and workshops addressing challenges facing community groups
  • mentoring and partnership opportunities with Council

As a member of the network, we are keen to hear about the needs of your group and identify ways we can work together to help build the capacity of your group.

How to join the network

To join the Community Groups and Events Network you need to be a member of a not-for-profit community group or organisation that is based in Moonee Valley.

If you are part of a local community group and would like to be involved, please complete the Registration of Interest survey.

Once you have completed the registration survey and meet the requirements, you will be sent an invitation to attend the next meeting.
