Throughout the year, we ask the community to provide their ideas, input and feedback in a number of ways to ensure Council decision-making is informed and takes into consideration the views of our community.

Community Survey 2018

This survey asks for feedback on the services provided by Council, as well information about households so that we can better plan for our residents. Your household may be randomly selected to take part in the survey.            

If your household is one of those selected, we would appreciate your cooperation in filling out the survey and returning it to us. The information gathered will help to ensure Council has a strong evidence-base to draw from in future planning and decision-making.

Mobile Food Vehicle Policy

There is currently no policy or guidelines for issuing permits for mobile food vehicles so this will be the first of its kind in Moonee Valley. Let us know what you think of these draft documents which aim to support mobile food operators.

Valley Youth - Young People's Survey

From now until 15 April, we are conducting the Young People’s Survey for 12-25 year olds. The survey will help us to better understand young people in Moonee Valley so we can improve services and programs, and provide guidance on how to improve the wellbeing of young people. It takes around 10 minutes to complete. The results are anonymous and will be reported on the Valley Youth website.

After completing the survey, you can enter the draw to win one of ten $100 Coles Myer vouchers.

Local Law review

Join the LGBTIQA+ Working Group for 2018

Interested in improving health, wellbeing and recognition for our LGBTIQ+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, queer and asexual) community? We are seeking expressions of interest from community members and representatives from organisations, service providers and community groups to join our LGBTIQA+ Working Group.

Airport West Structure Plan - Directions and Preferred Options Report

The Airport West Structure Plan is our long-term strategic document for managing growth and change in the Airport West Activity Centre. Review and consider the key directions and preferred options for the future of Airport West, and contribute your views indicating whether you support these initiatives.

What will Moonee Valley look like in 2040?

The MV2040 Visioning Paper has been prepared to inspire and stimulate conversation about the type of city and neighbourhoods we want to live in. Community feedback on this paper will inform the Draft MV2040 Strategy - the long-term plan for improving the health and liveability of our city over the next two decades.

NDIS

In early 2018, Council will decide if we will register as an NDIS provider or not. Feedback from the community will help us make this decision and plan for how we can continue to support people with disability and their families in the future.

Ideas for Bradshaw Street Reserve and Montgomery Park

We are developing a master plans for Bradshaw Street Reserve and Montgomery Park in Essendon. The master plans will guide the design, development and management of these parks over the next 15 years. We are keen for local residents and stakeholders to have their say on the plans and will be holding a community ideas sessions at both parks.

Have your say on the future of waste in Moonee Valley

We are seeking your ideas to avoid waste and improve reuse and recycling. The survey will only take ten minutes and provide us with valuable information to update the Waste and Resource Recovery Plan.

Footpath trading survey

We are asking local traders, shoppers and residents about your experience of footpath trading in Moonee Valley. It takes just two minutes to answer a few quick questions! Your views will assist us to ensure our popular shopping strips remain vibrant and meet the needs of our local businesses and the whole community.

Draft Domestic Animal Management Plan 

We are working on a new Domestic Animal Management Plan for the next four years. Guided by this plan, we will continue to support these residents by maintaining fair requirements regarding responsible pet ownership as well as educating the community on animal safety.

Draft park master plans

Following consultation late last year, we have developed draft master plans for five parks across Moonee Valley: AJ Davis Reserve in Airport West, Buckley Park in Essendon, Clifton Park in Aberfeldie, Overland Reserve in Keilor East, and Woodlands Park and Salmon Reserve in Essendon.

Portfolio Advisory Committees

Are you passionate about your local community? Be part of shaping Moonee Valley’s future by being a representative on one of our Portfolio Advisory Committees. These committees will support strategy and policy development and will provide an opportunity for community input into Council decision making

2017/18 Proposed Annual Budget

This proposed budget takes into account the funding of over 200 services to the local community as well as building and upgrading millions of dollars’ worth of capital works including managing our ageing assets.

Draft Council Plan 2017-21

The draft plan describes how we will work over the next four years to achieve the community’s vision for Moonee Valley: A city of clean, green and beautiful, vibrant, diverse and sustainable communities that people experience as friendly and safe to live in.

Community satisfaction survey

The Community Satisfaction Survey is commissioned by the State Government and was conducted over the phone with 400 residents in February and March 2017.

The survey focused on the areas of overall performance, customer service, community consultation, advocacy and overall Council direction, as well as individual service areas.

The results highlight our community’s concerns regarding planning and development related issues. Take a look at the results (pdf, 2MB)
