Moonee Ponds workers can now park and ride

Moonee Valley City Council is extending the trial of our free park and ride service in Moonee Ponds until Friday, 27 April to help workers avoid parking pain and free up more spaces for visitors to dine and shop.

Moonee Valley Mayor, Cr John Sipek, encouraged Moonee Ponds staff who drive to work to give the shuttle bus a try.

“You can park all day for free at the Moonee Valley Racing Club and catch a shuttle bus to work with two convenient bus stops on Kellaway Avenue and Taylor Street," Cr Sipek said.

“We all know that finding an all-day park around Moonee Ponds can be tough. While we would always encourage people to use all the great public transport options in the area to get to work, we know that isn’t always possible.

“By using the park and ride service you can guarantee you can park all day for free without worrying about moving your car or copping a fine."

Business promotion portfolio holder, Cr Richard Lawrence, said Council wants to do everything we can to help our local businesses thrive.

“Not only does the shuttle help traders avoid parking pain, the service also aims to allow workers to park away from the shops to help free up spaces for customers to visit, stay in the area and spend money," Cr Lawrence said.

“The service is easy and convenient and best of all it’s free. It runs Monday to Friday, leaving every 10 minutes between 7am and 10am in the morning and from 4pm to 7pm in the afternoon."
