Council rang in the festive season under the sunshine on Sunday much to the delight of the crowds.

The crowd even recorded a quick message for the whole Moonee Valley community - see it here:

The much-loved Carols in Queens Park went off without a hitch with more than 4,000 attendees revelling in the festivities together.

Locals lit candles, picnicked and sang along to the vocal stylings of Keilor Heights Primary, Niddrie Primary, Buckley Park College, Moonee Valley Brass, Essendon Choral Society and Moonee Valley Community Choir.

Soloist Paris Marie also graced the stage before The Voice contestant Matt Hetherington came on as the headline act.

Children were treated to a visit from Santa Claus in the midst of his busy schedule, and also enjoyed free cookie decorating and an active utility.

With a selection of local food vendors to choose from and the addition of digital screens, this year’s Carols in Queens Park was a great success.
