Wine and dine on the Westside

Wednesday, 7 February 2018

Moonee Valley will be the place to dine in March as Eat Drink Westside showcases some of the best food in the western suburbs as part of the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival.

Moonee Valley Mayor Cr John Sipek said Eat Drink Westside includes more than 30 delicious events.

“There’s something for everyone to enjoy with fun and quirky events from old favourites and unexpected places," Cr Sipek said.

“In Moonee Valley alone there are events at Rose Creek Estate, Ascot Food Store, The New Somali Kitchen, The Boathouse, The Valley Cellar Door, Philhellene, and The Abyssinian.

“Plus our very own librarians of Sam Merrifield Library will be hosting the ‘Chronicles of Cheese’, pairing their favourite books with just the right combination of wine with cheese from local specialists, Harper and Blohm,” he said.

Business Promotion portfolio holder, Cr Richard Lawrence, said Council was proud to be putting local restaurants on display through Eat Drink Westside.

“We have some top shelf cuisine in Moonee Valley and the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival is a great way for locals and visitors alike to discover what’s on offer,” Cr Lawrence said.

Eat Drink Westside runs from Friday, 16 March to Sunday 25 March as part of the Melbourne Food and Wine Festival and is presented by Moonee Valley City Council in partnership with Brimbank City Council, Hobsons Bay City Council, Maribyrnong City Council and Wyndham City Council.
