Women in Business Luncheon with Susan Alberti AC

Thursday, 22 February 2018

Local businesswomen are invited to come along to our annual Women in Business Luncheon on Friday, 23 March.

This year’s luncheon will be presented by businesswoman, fundraiser and footy devotee Susan Alberti AC, who will be joined by Master of Ceremonies Angela Pippos.

Moonee Valley Mayor, Cr John Sipek, said Council’s Women in Business luncheon is an excellent opportunity to network with other business women and take away new contacts and ideas.

“This year we are very excited to be joined by Susan Alberti AC and hear about her remarkable life,” Cr Sipek said.

“Susan is one of Australia's pre-eminent philanthropists, having donated millions of dollars to medical research and other charitable causes over her successful business career. Susan was named Melburnian of the Year in 2017 for her tireless work to find a cure for diabetes. Her advocacy and fundraising work in the field also earned Susan a Companion of the Order of Australia in 2016.

“The Western Bulldogs Vice President and life member has also been a champion of the women’s football movement and the VWFL Premier Division Cup is named after her.

“I encourage you to join us as we hear Susan’s inspirational story and celebrate the important contribution local businesswomen make to our economy and community as a whole.”

The MC for the event will be Angela Pippos.

Council’s Business Promotion portfolio holder, Cr Cam Nation said we’re delighted to be able to offer our business community the opportunity an experience that will be both entertaining and good for business.

“Whether you are an established business, or just getting started, the focus of this luncheon, as well as the many other events Council organises throughout the year, is to support every business in Moonee Valley.”

“Over 500 people attended last year’s event, so I encourage you to book your place early and get ready for a wonderful event.”

The Women in Business Luncheon is open to bookings from anyone interested – men, women and those outside the business community are welcome.
