This year Local and Live features writers Helen Cerne and Stuart Forsyth. Helen has published short stories, poems and articles in many Australian literary magazines as well "Those Who Can't", her autobiographical novel about teaching. In 2007 Helen established Vanark, a small independent publishing company based in Ascot Vale. Stuart Forsyth’s first novel, "Personal Taxidermy", was published by Vanark and was well reviewed. Presenting photographs, print media and other tactile material in a decorated album is one way to safeguard your family and your own history. Jan Jolley from ‘Scrappers on the go’ will hold a hands-on workshop for keen scrapbookers. Bring your own scissors and up to 8 photos on a theme such as birthdays, holidays, pets or weddings.
