Tell us about yourself

I am Moonee Valley born and bred and proudly so. I am a commercial lawyer and I am in my late-20s. In 2008, I worked for a community development non-profit organisation One Economy in Washington DC. I also participated in the Obama for President Campaign in the USA during the Primaries in January and February 2008. My two favourite hobbies are swimming and travel. You can follow me on Facebook.

What five words best describe you?

Organised, approachable, energetic, compassionate, diligent.

What do you hope to achieve in your term as Councillor?

I want to ensure our local businesses thrive with adequate parking and roads. I want to protect, enhance and rejuvenate Moonee Valley’s local gems: its parks, community centres, libraries and theatres. I want to ensure that the growth of Moonee Valley is sustainable and fair. As I am the only Councillor under the age of 30, I also want to be the voice of Moonee Valley’s youth. I want to make sure that Moonee Valley’s youth have three basic things: a roof over their heads, a place to work and something to do in their spare time.

What do you think are Moonee Valley’s greatest strengths?

Moonee Valley is a fantastic place to live. Moonee Valley has the best of both worlds. It is very close to the city, having the cosmopolitan and dynamic flavour of the city. Yet, like the suburbs, Moonee Valley has wide open spaces where families can live and play. Moonee Valley has a long, rich and colourful history that shows.
