Reward and Recognition
Do you know a young person or young people (12-24 years old) achieving something remarkable in Moonee Valley? Moonee Valley Youth Voice (committee run by young people) is taking nominations for their Reward and Recognition Program. Winners receive a $150 shopping voucher, a profile in a local newspaper and certificate from Moonee Valley City Council.
The Moonee Valley Youth Voice Recognition and Reward Program aims to:
- recognise the achievements and contributions of young people in the Moonee Valley community
- promote a positive image of young people in the Moonee Valley community
Congratuations to the latest award winner, Azam Abdullah. Azam is an extremely gifted soccer player, whose skills have been recognised by Football Federation Victoria – awarding him a scholarship to play in the 2012 season as a senior at the North Lions Soccer Club.
Applications are now open for the next round. Applications close Friday 29, June.

Moonee Valley Youth Voice
Real projects, real training and real recognition!
Want to learn how to run an annual youth grants program? You will be in charge of managing events and rewarding young people for doing positive things in our community.
You will have to be:
- between 14 and 24 years of age
- living, working or going to school in Moonee Valley
- excited about making positive changes for young people
Flemington and Ascot Vale Recreation Evening
An evening of activities for young people aged 12-18. Come along, meet new people and have fun with:
- soccer
- table tennis
- music lessons
- dance lessons
- X-box competitions
- free internet
- cooking classes
- art and craft
- social outings
Learn some new skills with our training programs:
- personal development training
- leadership training
- event management
- food handling accreditations
- first aid courses
When:
Every Thursday evening, 3.30pm-6.30pm at the Flemington Community Centre.
Every Tuesday evening, 4pm-6pm at the Wingate Avenue Community Centre in Ascot Vale.

Freeza
The Freeza program runs underage drug and alcohol-free music and cultural events for young people in Moonee Valley. It is run by local young people for local young people - with the support of our Youth Services team and funding from the Victorian Government.
Want to help organise and run our Freeza events?
Join our Music Reference Group and help run youth-related music and cultural events. Organising these events gives you the chance to learn skills in event and music management.

SEED Project
The SEED Project in its current form will be closing on the 30 June 2011 due to changes in funding. Until further notice there will not be any SEED employment opportunities.
We are committed to providing existing SEED participants with support and information regarding education, employment or training options.
