School Holiday Workshops

Each Autumn, Winter and Spring school holidays a range of imaginative workshops inspired by art, exhibitions, architecture and the natural environment are offered to children of all ages.

They are a chance to focus on creative activity and self- expression in a fun and encouraging environment, guided by professional artists and educators.

Programs are designed for children aged between 4 to 8 years (with an accompanying carer), or 9 to 12 years.

School holiday workshops run in the morning and afternoons during the following school holidays:

  • Autumn from 10 to 13 April
  • Winter from 3 to 6 July
  • Spring from 25 to 27 September

Bookings essential as class size is limited.

Arty Tales - Early Learning

Introduce your pre-schooler to art with our early learning program Arty Tales.

Storyteller artist Emily Paterson leads children through the Gallery in awe and wonder to view the exhibitions on display.

The art inspires stories, songs and an age-appropriate (caregiver assisted) activity. Children and their carers gain confidence to enjoy looking at art together in a gallery setting.

Recommended for children aged 3 to 5 years

The next Arty Tales will run from 10am to 11.30am on Thursday, 8 February.

Incy Wincy Babies - Early Learning

Join Barking Spider Visual Theatre artists who guide carers and their babies through a visual art experience at the Gallery.

Research is proving that positive health and developmental outcomes for babies depends on interactions with caregivers that are responsive, warm and consistent. These relationships play an integral role in shaping a child’s future health and life outcomes.

It is in the spirit of supporting caregivers to develop these bonds through engagement with art that we offer this new program.

The first Incy Wincy Babies will run from 10am to 11.30am on Friday, 2 March and has SOLD OUT.

Incy Wincy Babies will run on the following Fridays in 2018:

Light refreshments served.

This program is recommended for babies aged 0 to 24 months and their carer.

This program is $5.50 per child and free for accompanying carer.
