What's on in 2018

The CityLink Main Stage will host a number of music and dance performances throughout the day, and colourful and roving entertainers will delight and surprise passers-by.

We’ve got the kids covered with live shows at the Kids Kingdom, featuring the fun-filled DreamWorks’ Trolls! There’ll be free rides and activities including arts and crafts, giant sand pits, face painting and yoga.

Food stalls will dish up mouth-watering cuisine and festive treats galore, and live cooking demonstrations will bring to life dishes from around the world.

Check out the talent on the youth stage, relax in the chill-out zone, meet the Valley Youth team, and get involved in fun competitions!

Be inspired at the Essendon Renault Community expo with displays, performances and demonstrations from local groups. Join a workshop, find your green thumb or get creative.

Giant inflatable and bumper boats will be available at Queens Park Swimming Pool plus heaps of extra activities to keep the family entertained. Entry is free!

Dirty Lopez and His Sax Mambo

Dirty Lopez and his sax Mambo is a four piece Latin group from Melbourne. The band play various Latin tunes (and some modern hip tunes-Latin-fied) as well as originals. The band Includes Henry Chaparro - vocals and composer, Jorge Duran - keys, Steve Forss - drums and percussion, and Cristian Lopez - vocals and sax.

Little Wise

Little Wise, aka Melbourne songwriter Sophie Klein, is a truth-teller whose words and music leave you feeling more alive and heart-achingly human than ever before. Her sound fuses classic Americana and folk-roots with a good dose of Melbourne swagger. On stage, Little Wise can be found slinging her electric guitar, backed by Rosie Burgess on bass and distinctive drummer Pam Zaharias, together creating a rollicking roots-rock vibe.

The Scrims

Authentic, rootsy, bluegrass and swing. Previously known as The Scrimshaw Four, The Scrims are a high energy, folk/bluegrass band from Melbourne. Featuring banjo, two guitars, violin, double bass and stomp-box their live show will make your feet fall off from dancing so hard. The band’s talent for writing quirky songs with a dark tone, all the while keeping a happy beat that gets the dance floor going, has gained a huge following around Melbourne and Australia.

Brendelle

Brendelle is the musical conglomerate of Brendan Forward (ex-Massive) and Estelle Artois (ex-Tequila Mockingbyrd). Following extensive international touring – including around Europe and the UK as well as the Middle East entertaining Australia’s troops - Brendelle have unplugged their electric guitars to bring their love of all genres of music and performance acoustically along with choice percussion instrumentation. Spanning across genres such as jazz, blues, pop and rock, there is a bit of something for everybody in their repertoire.

Two-Kar-Tom

Two-Kar-Tom is an all-original trio from Melbourne, comprised of three musically adventurous individuals whose thirst for fresh tunes has taken them from Timbuktu to Turkey. Led by multi-instrumentalist and songwriter TV Jones, and joined by Nick Watson on bass and Holly Norman on drums, the band draws on a wide range of influences from desert blues to Philly funk. Moonee Valley Brass have been entertaining the local community for over 100 years. They perform at local events such as school fetes, citizenship ceremonies and ANZAC commemoration services. They also compete at competitions around the country and are currently preparing for the National Band Championships to be held this Easter.
