Afton Street Conservation Park is a historical open space on the Maribyrnong River. The site and surrounding Maribyrnong Valley Parklands are home to several species of birds and it features the occasional visits by swamp wallabies, dolphins and seals.

Spring Gully Reserve is a large reserve surrounding a section of Steele Creek with a developed open space for recreation. Dogs are able to exercise off leash here.
