Programs we run which involve volunteers
Volunteers support young people to gain access to opportunities. For example, by providing young learner drivers with supervised practice, helping them to accumulate the mandatory 120 hours of practice required to obtain their licence.
Volunteers support seniors and their carers with a range of services including Community Meals, Community Transport, exercise and social programs such as the Men’s Shed.
Volunteers are involved in environmental activities. See the calendar of events and activities.
Promoting options for healthy and sustainable living
Volunteers promote active transport and healthy lifestyles through the Walking Schools Bus.
Access and disability support
Volunteers support people living with disabilities with a range of services including Community Meals, Community Transport, and the Mobile Library Service.
Social, creative and leisure services
Volunteers inspire and support creativity, fun and friendship by running hobby and special interest sessions at community centres and select libraries.
Volunteers support local residents who have recently arrived in Australia. Services include supported driving practice for adult learner drivers; and free tuition to support school students and their families.
Volunteers share the pleasure of reading with people living with reduced mobility, through the home delivery of books, and by reading aloud to residents in nursing homes.
Events and small projects
Volunteers support short bursts of activity and events on occasion, for example, as part of the annual Step Off! event for young people.
Committees and advocacy groups
Volunteers are involved in committees and groups concerned with a range of community services.
