Registering and Renewing Pet Registration

All cats and dogs over the age of three months must be microchipped and registered with us. You could be fined if your dogs and cats are unregistered. We offer free first time registration for dogs and cats under the age of three months.

Register your pet

  • Print out an animal registration form (pdf, 475kb) 
  • Register your pet in person at the Civic Centre at 9 Kellaway Avenue, Moonee Ponds. Please bring proof of desexing or microchipping for each pet as well as your personal identification, and if need be, your pension card.

Process and fees

After paying the registration fees, you will be issued with an identification tag that you must attach to your pet’s collar.

Annual pet registrations are due by 10 April.

We send you an Animal Registration Renewal Notice in the mail and you can pay the renewal amount online or in person, by phone or post.
