Warm water exercise programs

We are working in partnership with local leisure centres to enhance their capacity to provide a broad range of healthy ageing programs for older adults.

Residents are encouraged to participate in a variety of warm water programs offered throughout the community. The most popular program is Ascot Vale Leisure Centre's Aqua Movers (for the over 50s). Ascot Vale Leisure Centre offers a hydrotherapy class that is facilitated by a qualified physiotherapist.

These classes are conducted in the purpose built hydrotherapy pool. A number of classes are being offered throughout the week. For further details contact 9375 3411.

Windy Hill Fitness Centre has an Aqua Movers program which uses a variety of equipment aimed at developing strength and cardiovascular fitness in a fun group session. The instructors offer a variety of styles and cater for beginners to experienced participants.

East Keilor Leisure Centre has an Aqua Aerobics program which takes place in the indoor pool. This program operates six days a week.

The centre's timetable caters for beginners to advance participants as well as Pryme Mover (Older Adult) specific classes. All classes are facilitated by a qualified aqua aerobics instructor. For enrolment or further details regarding sessions contact the centre on 9336 3711.

Any person interested in attending any of these fitness classes can also contact the Council Intake Officer on 9243 8806.
