Library membership

Welcome to Moonee Valley Libraries!

Our five libraries provide a range of services to support the needs of the community for learning, information and recreation.

Library membership is free and everyone is welcome to join.

As a member you can:

  • borrow books, magazines, DVDs and other resources
  • attend scheduled activities such as author talks, storytimes and classes
  • use our computers and wi-fi internet service

Joining your local library

To receive a library membership you must:

  • show us current identification and proof of address
  • and agree to abide by our conditions of membership (see below)

You will receive your library card immediately and will have full access to all library services.

Become a member online

You can sign up for a library membership online.

To receive your library card, present your current identification and proof of address at any of our branches.

What is my PIN number?

When filling in the membership form you will be asked to select a four-digit number. This PIN is required when you log on to the library catalogue, wi-fi and computers.

If you do not know your PIN, click on 'Log In' at the top of the library catalogue. Select 'Forgot your PIN' and enter your FULL barcode, then push 'Recover' and your PIN will be emailed to the email address on file at your library.

Under 18?

If you are under 18 years of age you must have your membership form signed by an adult who agrees to take responsibility for your usage of library materials and equipment.
