Can I get a disabled person's parking permit?
Disabled parking permits are available if you have mobility problems or a severe disability.
A state-wide Disabled Persons' Parking Scheme operates in Victoria and the scheme has two categories with various parking concessions.
Holding a permit will not guarantee a parking space.

How to apply for a disabled parking permit
Download and complete a disabled persons' parking permit application form (pdf, 24kb) or collect one from our Civic Centre at 9 Kellaway Avenue, Moonee Ponds.
The first part of the application form must be completed by you or your agent.
For people with an intellectual disability, the rest of the application must be completed by a specialist medical practitioner or clinical psychologist.
For all other disabilities, a medical practitioner (or a GP) must complete both pages and return the application to us.
You or your agent are responsible for any costs relating to the completion of the form.
You must sign and give authority for your medical practitioner/specialist medical practitioner/clinical psychologist to release your medical information.
Organisations
For organisations transporting the disabled, please complete the organisation application form (pdf, 19kb).
Fees and Permit Duration
- No fees apply
- Disabled persons' parking permits are valid for three years from the date of issue for people with permanent disabilities
- Disabled persons' parking permits for organisations providing transport services for disabled people are valid for 12 months from the date of issue
