There was colourful fun for all the family at the 2014 Moonee Valley Colour-Fest Run held on Sunday, 16 March.
Starting at the Moonee Valley Athletics Centre, over 400 participants chose a 5km or 10km run/walk taking in the picturesque Maribyrnong river. To get the whole family involved there were children's runs over 400m or 800m with Piggy the Bendigo Bank mascot and Froggy the YMCA mascot. Plenty of prizes were on offer for all our lucky winners.
Participants received a goodie bag worth over $60 which included a Brooks t-shirt and Bendigo Bank drink bottle plus much more!
We encouraged everyone to wear the free event t-shirt and have the opportunity to get covered in colour during the run. This certainly made for a colourful morning as participants ran or walked around the river.
There were lots of activities for the whole family with a jumping castle, face painting and a colouring competition, as well as a unique warm up with Bollywood Dancers!
Rotary cooked up a fantastic BBQ while Overdosa and Ameer Tandoori Restaurant offered delicious Indian cuisine.
Thanks to all participants we managed to raise much needed funds for Yatra Foundation and Rotary Club of North Essendon.
