The My Smart Garden workshops and other events are designed to take you on a journey from planning through to production following the seasons. Workshops are primarily for Moonee Valley and Hobsons Bay City Council residents, but others may attend if space permits.

Learn different composting and worm farming techniques and how to troubleshoot common problems. You'll be able to start a compost bin or worm farm, choose a system that suits you best and, very importantly, know how to use your compost and worm castings in the garden. |

Learn the fundamentals of soil and how to improve it. You can bring along some of your own garden soil and examine its soil structure, pH and biology. We'll discuss ways to improve soil using mineral and organic fertilisers and strategies for dealing with contaminated soils. |
