Draft Neighbourhood Character Study
We are undertaking a Neighbourhood Character Study of the city.
This study will complement our adopted Housing Strategy 2010 by documenting existing and preferred character for residential neighbourhoods across the city.
The purpose of this study is to provide us with an effective set of tools to ensure that new development will respond and contribute to the valued characteristics of residential areas within our municipality.

These documents will be on consultation from Monday 30 April until Friday 1 June 2012.
Council held two public forums on Wednesday 9 May to discuss the study. Thank you to to those who attended these forums. Your valuable feedback will be used in developing the final version of these documents. Answers are provided to the key questions (pdf, 160KB) raised in the forums.
