1144 to 1154 Mt Alexander Road Road and 19 Winifred Street Essendon

14 February 2018 update

At its Ordinary Meeting held 26 September 2017, Council resolved to refuse the application on a number of grounds. Read the 26 September 2017 meeting minutes (pdf, 454KB).

The matter is due to be considered by the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT) with the hearing scheduled to commence 19 March 2018. 

In the lead up to the hearing, amended plans have been circulated by the permit applicant. These amended plans will be the subject of consideration at the upcoming hearing.

Council is in the process of reviewing the amendments and will shortly formalise its position in preparation for the upcoming hearing

2017 update

We have received a planning permit application for a proposed development of a part 10 and part 6 storey mixed use building at 1144-1154 Mt Alexander Rd and 19 Winifred Street in Essendon.

The proposal includes 222 apartments, shops, a supermarket along with offices. The plans and accompanying documentation can be viewed here:
