Amendment C151 - Updates to flooding overlays

Melbourne Water has requested that we undertake a planning scheme amendment to update the land Subject to Inundation Overlay (LSIO) and Special Building Overlay (SBO).

The LSIO and SBO aim to ensure land subject to flooding and overland flow is developed in a way that minimises the risk of damage to properties.

Melbourne Water has developed advanced methods of mapping and modelling to determine land susceptible to flooding.

The update of the existing LSIO and SBO boundaries will ensure that drainage issues are accurately identified at an early stage in the development process through the Moonee Valley Planning Scheme.

We consulted on the planning scheme amendment during July and August 2015 which included two drop-in sessions. Thank you to everyone who put forward a submission during the consultation.

We are currently reviewing the submissions received.
