Additional animals

You can keep a limited number of animals on your property. The limits are set to help protect the health of pets and minimise any inconvenience to your neighbours.

* Roosters are prohibited under this Local Law.

**Farm animals are only permitted by permit where there is 2,000m² of open land per animal. Farm animals, chickens, pheasants, peafowls or guinea fowl, turkeys, ducks, geese or poultry other than those specified are prohibited under this Local Law.

If you want to apply for a permit to keep more than that specified in the above table, you will need to submit an extra animals permit (pdf, 99kb) at a half yearly cost of $18.00 for the remainder of the 2019/20 registration year. 

Permits are renewed 10 April annually and half year fees apply from 10 October annually.
