Special circumstances bin

In an effort to reduce waste to landfill, standard practice is for each household to be provided with one red-lidded kerbside landfill bin and any additional bins to be limited to residents that demonstrate special circumstances.

These circumstances are medical conditions (eg. dialysis) that generate more non-hazardous waste than can be accommodated by one bin.

A medical certificate signed by a medical practitioner stating that there is health condition that creates waste beyond the 120L bin capacity must be submitted before a second bin is issued. Note: no details of the medical condition are required.

Call 9243 8888 for more information about special circumstances bins.
