A very merry Valley this Christmas

Monday, 12 November 2018

Moonee Valley is the place to be this holiday season with a jam-packed program of events out now.

Moonee Valley Mayor, Cr Narelle Sharpe said there’s loads of opportunities to visit Santa, explore your neighbourhood and take part in some amazing Christmas events.

“From early December we’ll have a huge ferris wheel set up in Wallis Mall in Niddrie, Hall Street in Moonee Ponds will be glittering with fairy lights and a giant Christmas tree, and Woodland Street in Strathmore will be sparkling with a Christmas projection by celebrated White Night illumination artist, Projection Teknik.

“There’s even a chance to win a basket of goodies from our local businesses – just snap a selfie at one of those locations and upload it to Instagram using #mvxmas2018 to go into the draw.

“There’s so much to see and do in Moonee Valley and on behalf of Council, I wish you a safe and happy holiday,” Cr Sharpe said.

Portfolio holder for Business Promotion, Cr Richard Lawrence, said you should save yourself some stress and shop local for all your Christmas celebration needs.

“You can get everything you need to decorate your tree, fill up the stockings and prepare Christmas lunch right here in Moonee Valley.

“It’s a wonderful time of year to support our local businesses- if you head down to Essendon North Village on Saturdays in December you’ll even get to see roving performers and street artists as part of their Big Christmas Saturdays.” said Cr Lawrence.
