Join our ping pong-a-thon

Monday, 1 October 2018

Moonee Valley City Council is hosting a 12-hour ping pong-a-thon during Children’s Week to help raise awareness of child exploitation in developing countries.

Moonee Valley Mayor Cr John Sipek said the event is part of a nationwide fundraising and advocacy movement.

“All community members, schools and local services are invited to put together a team of at least two people,” Cr Sipek said.

“We’ll also have prizes up for grabs on the day, including largest team, most money raised, best costume, most entertaining team, and trophies for the winners.”

Portfolio holder for Community Wellbeing Cr Jim Cusack encouraged players of all ages and abilities to get involved.

“Get your table tennis team together and come down to Flemington Community Centre and support children across the world during Children’s Week,” Cr Cusack said.

“Not only will you have a great time playing ping pong, you’ll also be making a difference by helping some of our most disadvantaged people.”

When: Thursday, 25 October, 8am–8pm
Where: Flemington Community Centre, 25 Mt Alexander Road, Flemington
