MV2040 Strategy adopted by Council

Thursday, 28 June 2018

Council has adopted its long-term plan MV2040 to guide how we will make Moonee Valley a great place to live for current and future generations.

Moonee Valley Mayor Cr John Sipek said MV2040 is Council’s ‘umbrella’ strategy which will guide all future work by Council.

“We are now taking a neighbourhood planning approach to identify local priorities and tailor responses to suit each neighbourhood, while improving health and vibrancy across Moonee Valley,” Cr Sipek said.

“Delivering MV2040 will help us create a healthy city that is fair, thriving, connected, green and beautiful.”

Council’s Future Communities portfolio holder, Cr Rebecca Gauci Maurici, said Council is in the process of updating the Moonee Valley Planning Scheme to align with the themes of MV2040.

“We’ve consulted extensively with our community over the past 18 months and we’ve thought about the future and what it means for everyone who visits, studies, works or lives in Moonee Valley.

MV2040 is the outcome of this and will be incredibly important for us in terms of how we manage our city holistically,” Cr Gauci Maurici said.
