Our plan for 2040

Thursday, 26 April 2018

Moonee Valley City Council is inviting feedback on our draft MV2040 Strategy, our long-term plan to guide how we make Moonee Valley a great place to live for current and future generations.

Moonee Valley Mayor Cr John Sipek encouraged residents to tell us if we’ve got our draft MV2040 Strategy right by Friday, 18 May.

“The draft strategy examines what Moonee Valley will look like in 2040 and how we plan to respond to trends and challenges that will impact on the future of our city,” Cr Sipek said.

“We need to understand and effectively plan for the future that we can reasonably expect is ahead of us.

“Visit our website to view the draft strategy and tell us if our objectives and actions will make the Moonee Valley of 2040 be a place you want to live, work, play and invest in.”

Council’s Future Communities portfolio holder Cr Rebecca Gauci Maurici said we received more than 2,000 responses during our MV2040 Visioning Paper consultation and have used this feedback to develop the draft strategy.

“Our municipality and the community that calls it home will continue to grow and change, and we want to make sure Council’s priorities from now until 2040 will make Moonee Valley healthy, vibrant and resilient,” Cr Gauci Maurici said.

“We’ll use your feedback to finalise the MV2040 Strategy, which will form the strong piece of strategic work that will underpin our re-write of the Municipal Strategic Statement within the Moonee Valley Planning Scheme.”
