Winter Music in the Valley 2019

The annual Winter Music in the Valley concert series is sure to add some warmth during those cooler months, with some uplifting music and an after dark event the whole family can enjoy!

Held over three Sundays in June, the FREE concert series invites the community to come together and experience a delightful afternoon of classical music right in the heart of their neighbourhoods.

Everyone can celebrate the Winter Solstice with a journey through magical musical light installations and performance art at the Keilor Road precinct.

Venues have limited capacity and will be seated on a first come first served basis.

Formed in 1996 by violist, Sophie Kesoglidis, Alto Strings is a versatile, dynamic and engaging string ensemble comprising of Australia’s leading performers. Members of Alto Strings have performed with Melbourne, Adelaide, Tasmanian and West Australian Symphony Orchestras and with artists such as Pavarotti, Harry Connick Jnr, KD Lang, Katy Perry and Hugh Jackman. Alto Strings members have performed at prestigious events such as The Logies, AFL Grand Final and the Grand Prix.

Serenade Duo are an exquisite vocal ensemble. They have an extensive repertoire spanning traditional opera to contemporary rock tunes. They have performed major roles in opera and musical theatre with companies including Victorian Opera, Oz Opera, Melbourne Opera and major musical theatre companies in Melbourne. As seasoned professionals they have been entertaining and delighting Melbourne audiences on stage and at festival, official functions, state functions and city wide special occasions for several years.

The Clarendon Quintet are Cassandra Slater, flute; Ennes Mehmedbasic, oboe; Jarrad Linke, clarinet; Jye Todorov, bassoon and Eve McEwen, horn.
They'll be performing Nielsen's Wind Quintet op. 43, and Ravel's Ma mère l’oye (Mother Goose) Suite, arr. for Wind Quintet.
