Food Fair Festival

Avondale Heights Library and Learning Centre

The first Food Fair of the festival celebrates the cannoli, with lots of tasty treats, cooking demonstrations, pairing sessions and live entertainment.

Meet local artisans and pick up a range of gourmet treats and provisions.

Get a taste of the real Moonee Valley at this festival of flavour and immerse yourself in the vibrant culture of our neighbourhoods.

Bring the flavour of Italy into your own kitchen and learn how to recreate authentic pasta bolognese at home with the Providore Sisters!

They'll also demonstrate how to make their favourite loaded nachos!



Emelia Jackson

Don't miss a traditional tiramisu workshop presented by former Masterchef contestant Emelia Jackson. 

As a self-taught cook and chef, Emelia now runs her own cake design business and holds regular workshops to share the art of cake making.

Learn to to make easy homemade pizzas with the team from Strathmore locals Pizzicotto!

They'll take you through the basics of a simple Italian-style pizza base so you can enjoy the authentic taste at home.

The Panzerotto is a completely handmade food, stretched with a dough roller, then stuffed up with fresh mozzarella, Italian tomato sauce and oregano herbs, then fried and served it hot. The shape and the colour of it is like a half moon.

Join Earth Crusaders for a fun session where kids will learn the importance of reducing plastic while making and decorating their very own reusable food wrap.

Earth Crusaders are a newly formed not-for-profit organisation based in Moonee Valley with a passion for teaching kids how to become sustainable junior citizens.

Avondale Heights Community Garden Kids Activity 

Great opportunity for kids to learn how to make a small seed pot and plant a seed to take home.

Avondale Heights Community Garden will provide a list of seeds/seedlings to plant now, and general advice on growing your own fresh organic vegetables.

Family and children workshops

Moonee Valley Family and Children's Services

Bring your children (aged 0-5 years) along for a fun afternoon of crafts and play dough.

Families will also be able to access information on Family and Children’s Services, including supported play groups.
