Windy Hill

Essendon Recreation Reserve, more popularly known as Windy Hill, has a long history as an iconic sport and recreation venue in Moonee Valley.

Windy Hill has supported thousands of players and spectators of AFL, cricket, croquet and lawn bowls over 138 years.

With the Essendon Football Club moving its training base to the Tullamarine, along with ageing facilities, local demand for recreation facilities and population growth, we need to start thinking about how the space will look in the future.

Imagine Windy Hill

We want to optimise the use of the precinct by the community and encourage greater participation in recreation.

In order to start thinking about how Windy Hill will look in the future, we are consulting with the community and asking for ideas.

How can Windy Hill better service the community as a key piece of open space?

How can the Windy Hill story be celebrated while evolving as an iconic venue for generations to come?

Have your say, share your ideas and stories on our Your say page.
