About Hopetoun Early Years Centre

Established in 1949, Hopetoun Early Years Centre is Moonee Valley’s longest running early years’ service. Hopetoun was fully redeveloped in 2016, and features long day care, sessional kindergarten, an integrated kindergarten program, a large natural outdoor play space and Maternal and Child Health facilities.

Hopetoun is a multicultural service, with educators and children all being encouraged to celebrate cultural events and festivals significant to their family’s culture and heritage in which we live and where we come from.

The service has a large natural outdoor space incorporating trees, access to water play and open spaces to allow the children to run and ride bikes.

We are an innovative early childhood education and care service implementing the evidence based 3a Abecedarian Approach. The program 3a focuses on making language a priority at every opportunity. This supports each child’s overall learning and development in child initiated play and intentional teaching using conversational reading and learning games.

The service is located within walking distance of the vibrant Racecourse Road shopping and dining precinct, with easy access to public transport. We have a strong community focus, fostering local connections and contributing to the social and cultural viability of the area.
