About Milleara Integrated Learning and Development Centre for Children (MILD)

After opening in 2010, Milleara Integrated Learning and Development Centre for Children is a modern early year hub, offering long day care, integrated kindergarten programs, maternal and child health services, a large outdoor play area and facilities for external outreach providers.

Milleara Integrated Learning and Development Centre for Children (MILDCC) is strongly connected to the community. Throughout the year our educators arrange regular outings, incursions and partnerships with the community, based on children’s interests and development. We are able to promote children as active citizens within the municipality.

MILDCC is innovative in its approach to early childhood with multi aged rooms which allow siblings and other significant children to interact in flexible learning spaces, both indoors and outdoors. Offering one large outdoor natural play space, children have the luxury to engage in and learn with other children and educators from all rooms.

We are an innovative early childhood education and care service implementing the evidence based 3a Abecedarian Approach. The program 3a focuses on making language a priority at every opportunity. This supports each child’s overall learning and development in child initiated play and intentional teaching using conversational reading and learning games.

Our goal is that all children arrive at school developmentally ‘on track’, this is supported through building resilience, social and emotional development also including independent self-help skills.

The centre is located on the corner of Keilor Park Drive and Milleara Road, with easy access to the Calder Freeway and Western Ring Road.
