MWF18

The Melbourne Writers Festival is upon us once again. This year's theme is 'A Matter of Life and Death' and Moonee Valley Libraries has the pleasure of hosting two of the most interesting and thought provoking writers featured this year. Han Yujoo will be at our Flemington branch on Saturday 25th August talking about her work "The Impossible Fairytale" and Michael Mohammed Ahmad will be at our Moonee Ponds branch (Sam Merrifield) on Wednesday 29th August talking about his work "The Lebs". KOGO: Knit One, Give One

Knit one, give one

Knit One Give One, KOGO, is a not for profit organisation supplying handmade garments to support people experiencing hardship. Volunteers can make a whole range of items including scarves, beanies, blankets, toys and children’s and babies’ clothing. Finished items are distributed to various community partners throughout Australia including the Salvation Army, Sacred Heart Mission, Mirabel Foundation and Open Family Australia.

Moonee Valley Libraries invites members of the community to share some warmth throughout 2018 and knit, crochet or sew for KOGO. We will be forwarding on donations throughout the year. Patterns are available on the KOGO website or ask staff for assistance.

Completed items or blanket squares may be dropped off at any of our library branches.
