The Western Region Deadly Race

Friday, 23 November 2018, 9am–12.30pm

Kirrip Aboriginal Corporation in partnership with the Long Walk Foundation will be hosting the inaugural Western Region Long Walk Deadly Race along the banks of the Maribyrnong River commencing at Fairbairn Park.

An event based on the Amazing Race, teams of 12 to 15 year olds will complete challenges at different pit stops along the river from Fairbairn Park to Canning Street Reserve. Stakeholder pit stops include Melbourne Water, Toolern Vale Dingo Sanctuary, Maribyrnong City Council and the Living Museum at Pipemakers Park, Blackbird Cruises, CoHealth, and our own conservation and youth development teams. 

The event will begin with a Smoking Ceremony and Welcome to Country by a Wurundjeri Elder and finish with live entertainment and barbecue lunch at the pavilion.
