Save money and improve your building's performance

Moonee Valley City Council is helping commercial building owners deliver projects that improve their building’s efficiency, sustainability and environmental footprint.

Building Upgrade Finance can be used to fund anything from installing solar panels, a green roof or greywater systems to refrigeration upgrades, lighting improvements and insulation upgrades.

Moonee Valley Mayor Cr Narelle Sharpe encouraged businesses to take part and said getting involved was easy.

“Building Upgrade Finance is a long-term fixed interest loan, but rather than paying back a bank, repayments are collected through your Council rates, meaning the bank can offer much better terms,” Cr Sharpe said.

“Making environmental updates to your building has a range of benefits including increasing your building’s value, attracting and retaining tenants and reducing your utility bills.”

Portfolio holder for Planning and Environment Cr Nicole Marshall said participating would not only be better for the environment, but could save money in the long run.

“If you’ve ever wanted to make your premises more sustainable, efficient and better for the environment but haven’t known where to start, Building Upgrade Finance is the answer,” Cr Marshall said.
