Hosted by Mrs Claus and the happy elves, enjoy breakfast and gingerbread cookie decorating. Santa will arrive aboard a vintage fire truck driven by Melbourne Fire Brigade firefighters.

It’s a Hall Street Christmas party

Where: Hall Street, Moonee Ponds

When: Saturday, 24 November, street party from 10am–4pm, moonlight film playing at dusk

Cost: Free

Celebrate Christmas on Hall Street with face painting, chalk drawing, children’s craft, inflatables, a visit from Santa, live music and much more! Set up your deck chairs after dusk to sit back and watch How the Grinch Stole Christmas.

Union Road street party

Where: Union Road, Ascot Vale

Deck the market stalls at this Christmas street party! Ride on a vintage fire truck, get your face-painted, listen to live music - you could even meet Santa! Make sure to stop by The Parade to sing along with the choirs at our twilight carols.

From Saturday, 1 December, travel through a Christmas-lit wonderland as fairy lights twinkle along the street and a giant Christmas tree inspires a festive spirit.

Secret Santa sightings

Where: Throughout Moonee Ponds shopping precinct

When: Daily throughout December, 12 noon–2pm

Santa spreads Christmas cheer over Moonee Ponds. If you spot him, grab a photo or two and tag @mooneeponds3039 when you upload them to Facebook.

Christmas storytime

Morning Music – B# Big Band

Selfie competition terms and conditions

Terms and conditions:

1. Entry is open to Australian residents only. 

2. Promotion commences on Saturday, 24 November and final entries close at 3pm on Friday, 21 December. 

3. To enter participants must post a selfie at the Hall Street giant Christmas tree, Niddrie Christmas ferris wheel or Lights of Strathmore, using #mvxmas2018 and profiles must be set to public.

4. The Prize is a Christmas hamper valued at $500. Prizes are not transferable or exchangeable and cannot be taken as cash.

5. Winners will be notified via our Instagram page @cityofmooneevalley at 4pm on Friday, 21 December.
