Moonee Valley Libraries offer a range of classes. Whether you are an absolute beginner or looking to improve your skills, you're sure to find something that suits your needs.

There is no cost for technology classes. 

Bookings are required prior to attending classes and all classes can be booked via our Eventbrite page. 

Tech Connect

Bring along your device, share knowledge and meet new friends. Tech Connect is a friendly informal group focusing on exploring technology, gaining a better understanding of devices and their features. Sessions will be facilitated by staff but are not repair workshops. Free, no bookings required.

English conversation classes

In partnership with Farnham Street Neighbourhood Learning Centre, the library offers free conversation classes. These weekly classes are a great way to practice your English and meet new people in a relaxed setting. All levels of English are welcome. This program is aimed at adult learners. Classes do not run during school holidays. Free, no bookings required.

Italian conversation group

Do you want to improve and practice your Italian? Join Maria weekly to practice and meet new people in an informal, relaxed setting. Maria has taught Italian for over thirty years and has worked as a tour guide for Italian, Spanish, French, and English speaking travellers visiting Australia. She has taught at LaTrobe University, the Italian Institute of Culture and Coasit, teaching Italian at all levels of learning and is currently completing a PhD. This program is aimed at adult learners. Classes run during school term. Free, no bookings required.

Family History Group

Connect with other local people with an interest in genealogy and share stories, research tips and knowledge. The first hour concentrates on a set topic and the second hour is for open discussion, chat, research and skills sharing. Free, no bookings required.

Come along to Avondale Heights and Flemington Libraries for free screenings of documentaries, international and art house films. Bookings can be made via our Eventbrite page.

Help with forms

Do you need help with forms? In partnership with Farnham Street Neighbourhood Learning Centre, Moonee Valley Libraries is offering a free program for people who need help with myGov, filling out forms or understanding bills or other documents. For legal documents please refer to Flemington & Kensington Community Legal Centre. Book your 30 minute session now. Free, bookings necessary.

Community meals café

Eligible Home and Community Care residents can have delicious and nutritious three course meals while enjoying the company of others. This program is provided by the Community Strengthening Department. $7.75 per meal. For further information call 9243 8806 or 8325 1940.
