Stories from the Suburbs

Stories from the Suburbs is a free community writing program organised by the Moonee Valley Memoirists and funded by Moonee Valley City Council.

Over twelve months, Sam Merrifield Library and Avondale Heights Library will host a series of writing workshops and mentoring sessions with Lyndel Caffrey, award winning writer, teacher, mentor and manuscript assessor. Lyndel's workshops will be supplemented by regular meetings of Moonee Valley Memoirists. As well as getting to know other writers and building their creative writings skills, participants will have the opportunity to submit their writing for a Memoir and Local History Anthology to be published and launched in June 2019.

This program is open to all. Please feel free to attend any one session or all of the sessions. We particularly encourage the many memoirists, life writers, local and family history writers who write about, live in and work in Moonee Valley.
