The driving range will be closed from Monday, 15 July for some much needed improvement works. This will include reshaping of the range, upgrades to the building to improve safety including removing the top tier, new range targets, mats, pads and dividers, and landscaping.

We expect the driving range will be closed for eight weeks. All memberships will be temporarily suspended while the range is closed.

The newly refurbished mini golf area is now open. We hope you like it!

Email leisure@mvcc.vic.gov.au if you have any questions.

Netball and tennis

The courts are complete and are ready to be used. Council is currently taking bookings for the netball and tennis competition, training and coaching. Once the major competitions have been scheduled, the courts will be opened for the community to book and use. Netball and tennis competitions will commence from Monday, 15 July.

The site is being prepared for the temporary pavilion. This pavilion has been built off site and will be delivered in the week of Monday, 15 July.

Future of our leisure centres

Moonee Valley’s leisure and aquatic facilities were built originally in the 1950s and 1960s.

Over the years they have been improved and upgraded and have become centres that now offer a wide range of services.

Given these centres are ageing, in particular the swimming pools, it is now time to plan to ensure these centres can meet changing community needs well into the future!

Aquatic Leisure Centre Plan

Our Aquatic Leisure Centre Plan (pdf, 1.22MB) aims to guide long term decision making about leisure centre redevelopment in Moonee Valley.

Two of the first priority actions in the plan are to:

  • develop a feasibility study to look at redevelopment options for the East Keilor Leisure Centre
  • develop possible upgrade works in particular for the concourse area at Ascot Vale Leisure Centre

Riverside Golf and Tennis Centre

Planning has commenced to increase the number of netball and tennis courts located at Riverside Golf and Tennis Centre. To find out more, please go to the Fairbairn Park page.

The works are aligned with Fairbairn Park Master Plan (pdf, 900kb) and Riverside Golf and Tennis Master Plan (pdf, 9MB) which through community consultation, found the site to be the ideal location to meet current and future users onsite.

East Keilor Leisure Centre redevelopment

Planning for Moonee Valley’s largest capital works project has commenced with the appointment of Peddle Thorp Architects to lead the design of the new East Keilor Leisure Centre.
