Other waste providers

We aren't the only source of waste disposal:

Household chemicals

Detox Your Home

Detox Your Home is run by Sustainability Victoria and helps you to dispose of your old and unwanted household chemicals in an environmentally responsible way.

Paint, household batteries, and compact fluorescent lamps and tubes, which are less toxic than household chemicals (but also a more common waste item), can be disposed of throughout the year at the Moonee Valley Transfer Station. Detox your home, on the other hand, is a free service designed specifically to collect unwanted, highly toxic household chemicals.

See a full list of upcoming mobile collections.

The next free detox your home collection will be held in Keilor Park on Saturday, 17 March from 9am-1pm.

What you need to do:

Register online or over the phone, then turn up on the day with your unwanted items, and the trained detox your home team will do the rest. Registration is required to manage traffic flow and avoid queues on the day, which means you can get in and out quickly.
